AMA Waterways was founded in 2002 (as Amadeus Waterways) and has been pioneering European River cruising ever since. The company was founded by river cruise industry pioneer Rudi Schreiner, cruise industry executive Kristin Karst and former owner of Brendan Worldwide Vacations, Jimmy Murphy and boasts the fastest growing and newest fleet on the historic Danube, Rhine, Main and Mosel rivers. AMA Waterways now has 19 cruise ships on the European river circuit with the latest ship, the AmaStella launched in January 2016.

The fleet of 19 cruise ships is by far the biggest on the European waterways and the AMA vessels feature the most spacious staterooms of any European river cruise with 82% boasting French Balconies. Each ship is decked out with luxurious, hotel quality furnishing from the bedding to the bathrobes and slippers. The marble-appointed bathrooms feature luxurious spa-quality toiletries and a multi-jet shower system and with a flatscreen TV in every cabin boasting a wide range of satellite TV channels and internet access, there is never a dull moment either on deck or back in your cabin.

Onboard Experience

The AMA Waterways Difference’ extends to a range of complimentary amenities for passengers to enjoy on a daily basis and all make for a superb onboard experience. From the fitness centre, beauty salon, whirlpools and walking track on the sun deck to the bicycles that are available for passengers to explore the quaint towns and villages, AMA Waterways goes the extra mile to create an awesome onboard experience. Couple this with free Wi-Fi in public lounges, complimentary, free flowing local wines at dinner and a speciality tea and coffee station and you can see why AMA Waterways is Europe’s most popular river cruising line.
