G Adventures was launched in 1990 with the belief that there was a group of travellers out there who shared the same desire as founder Bruce Poon Tip – to experience authentic adventures in a responsible and sustainable manner. Since the launch, the company has grown from a one man band to a company of over 1,350 worldwide and growing. Initially G Adventures launched with a handful of itineraries in Latin America and they now offer hundreds of adventure itineraries worldwide.
Every year G Adventures cater for over 100,000 travellers who get to experience the real world on authentic and sustainable tours. G Adventures still class themselves as a travel pioneer company, offering the planet’s most awe-inspiring selection of affordable small-group tours. Their award-winning trips embrace authentic accommodation, exotic cuisine and local transport.
Cruising is just one element of the G Adventures offering, however they do have a fleet of 12 ships that vary from luxurious catamarans to traditional sailing boats. As you can imagine, with such a diverse fleet, a cruise with G Adventures is always something a bit different, however one thing that are committed to on board any of their vessels is quality. From their smallest sailing yachts which hold around 16 people up to the larger G Expedition which can hold up to 140 passengers, each of the boats is tailor made for the waters they sail in.
From the Evolution, a cruise ship specifically designed for the waters around the Galapagos Islands to the quirky Amatista, a three story cruiser that is perfect for cruising down the Amazon.

Again, with such a varied fleet, the onboard experience differs depending on your itinerary and the vessel you are sailing on. Some of the G Adventures cruising ships are pretty basic but all are extremely comfortable. G Adventures is all about the destination and the cool places you can travel rather than the swimming pools and the multiple restaurants. Every part of your cruise is well thought out however and the onboard experience is appropriate to the places you are travelling. The Amatista for example is equipped with a pair of skiffs for day excursions and adventuring on the Amazon. The Xavier III has a wraparound deck which is great for soaking up the sun and also features an onboard bar. The Evolution comes equipped with sea kayaks, enabling travellers to explore the bays around the Galapagos Islands so everything is well thought out onboard a G Adventures Cruise.

As you would imagine from the name, G Adventures is all about adventure cruising to places that are less well travelled and off the beaten track. Their itineraries include trips to the following destinations:
• Artic Regions
• South America
• Asia and Indian Ocean
