The river ship

The fifth cruise ship in Holland America's fleet to carry this name, MS Maasdam is named after the Maas River in the Netherlands.

An artist's creative paradise

Specially built to carry fewer passengers and a provide a more spacious experience, cruise liner MS Maasdam has your comfort and relaxation in mind. There are fantastic ocean views in many of the staterooms, and a private veranda for each suite. The interior motif is a tribute to the proud Dutch history of the East and West India companies. This fabulous ship has as her centrepiece, Luciano Vistosi's 'Totem,' which is a giant sculpture consisting of almost 2,000 glass pieces … a graceful work of art soaring three stories high.

After you view fantastic sculptures, you can also browse abstract murals, commissioned by the Rotterdam Dining room. There are also historical art pieces from Japan – a charcoal brazier and iron teapots – dating back to the end of the  Japanese Edo period.
