Who's sailing to Africa?
Many of the major cruise lines offer itineraries that visit ports throughout Africa, most of which include South African cities including Cape Town and Durban. These itineraries can be long cruises which can set off from the USA or Europe, taking passengers around the world. There are smaller cruises operating in and around Africa, particularly offering cruises to the Seychelles.
When is the best time to go to Africa?
The African cruise season typically runs from late October/early November through to May with December and January the peak months. Africa however is a large continent with varying climates and geology so it is always best to research your exact destinations and use these broad dates as a guide. Some of the Indian Ocean Islands offer year round itineraries due to their stable climate but if you want to be there for a specific event such as wine harvest or safari, then these vary again so be sure to do your research.
