Our expert team here at iCruise can help you to put together a great itinerary, visiting the countries and destinations around the world you are most interested in cruising to.
Why cruise worldwide?
Simply put, why not?! A worldwide cruise for most people is a once in a lifetime experience; the opportunity to visit a wide range and variety of destinations and countries around the world all in the comfort of a luxury cruise liner. All of the big cruise line companies offer world cruise itineraries which usually take around 110-120 days depending on the itinerary. That is a huge time commitment but one that is more than worth it to experience some of the greatest sights the world has to offer. Some people choose to break a cruise up and rather than sticking to a specific round the world itinerary, will instead book a series of cruises, picking up different itineraries around the world which allows them to stay in one place for longer or miss out places that they may not be as interested in visiting. However you choose to cruise the world, you are guaranteed to have the time of your life.
If you choose a pre-set itinerary with one specific cruise line, the majority of itineraries follow a similar route, taking advantage of conditions at sea at specific times of the year as well as following the sun and warmth. You can of course create your own world cruise itinerary and you can speak to one of our cruise consultants for advice about the best way for you to see the world on a cruise. Here are some of the destinations included on a traditional world cruise:
• New York, USA • Fort Lauderdale, USA • Bridgetown, Barbados • Salvador, Brazil • Rio De Janeiro, Brazil • Montevideo, Uruguay • Punta Del Este, Uruguay • Ushuaia, Argentina • Cape Horn, Argentina • Punta Arenas, Chile • Santiago, Chile • Easter Islands • Papeete, Tahiti • Auckland, New Zealand • Wellington, New Zealand • Bay of Islands, New Zealand • Sydney, Australia • Brisbane, Australia • Cairns, Australia • Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia • Shanghai, China • Hong Kong • Hanoi, Vietnam • Laem Chabang, Thailand • Sihanoukville, Cambodia • Singapore • Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia • Colombo, Sri Lanka • Cochin, India • Dubai, UAE • Muscat, Oman • Salalah, Oman • Luxor, Egypt • Limassol, Greece • Haifa, Greece • Naples, Italy • Boston, USA • Lima, Peru • Rome, Italy • Lisbon, Portugal • Copenhagen, Denmark • Helsinki, Finland • St Petersburg, Russia • Tallinn, Estonia • Riga, Latvia
Who’s cruising worldwide?
As you can imagine, all of the larger cruise line companies offer a worldwide itinerary – these are not necessarily annual trips so it is a good idea to keep an eye on the deals that appear each year and plan your trip well in advance. Here are some of the cruise lines offering worldwide cruises:
When is the best time to go on a worldwide cruise?
Most worldwide cruises typically depart in January and this tends to be the start of the worldwide cruise season. Some companies have started to offer more flexible options that start later in the year. Princess for example offer a worldwide cruise departing from Auckland or Sydney in May which is a great option for cruisers from the Southern Hemisphere as winter approaches.
